This is actually my article review for my English subject's assignment. I post it up thinking that I could make a good use of it, here in my blog. A bit lengthy, but please, do read 'till the end :)
Title: Gender Equality still falls short
Author: Marina Mahathir
Summary
In this article, Marina Mahathir was focusing on recent events of underage marriage as how it portrayed our gender equality in Malaysia. The event was about two little girls, who were married to grown men with permission of their fathers, their wali. Other fact that is disturbing was the marriages did not follow procedures, one having been allegedly conducted in a car. It is also stated in one of the case, the father claimed that he was “mesmerised” by the intended groom and therefore allowed his daughter to be taken in marriage.
The papers that was signed also legal as a loophole of the State Enactments gives judges the power to permit them despite the minimum marriage age for girls being 16.What make the issue a bigger worry is that subsequently, one of the girl was found dumped in a mosque, semi-conscious and god knows what she might have gone through. Marina questioned our society for not having the awareness of such cases and she said what else we should call an adult man marrying a child but a pedophilia.
She said, although having the ground to blame the parent, the parent themselves believed what the groom said when he claimed that such marriage is completely in line with religion base on what happen to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. Marina stated that this is what happens when people have not only little religious knowledge but blindly follow what so-called religious people told them.
Had the father asked anyone with some knowledge, he might have found out the law of legal age of marriage, but just because somebody quoted him something that sounded vaguely religious, he believed him and gave his daughter’s hand. Marina questioned, why this never happen to little boys. It’s perhaps because we often view females as property to be given away as and when we feel like it.
OPINION
From my point of view, I think the author is trying to question why do such terrible cases happened to little girl, and not boy. Just like how old Malay tradition goes, where a grown up female will be marry to other guy without giving her any choices to pursue whatever the individual have dream off, as if a property to be given away, and the author see this as gender inequality.
Personally, I never experience such cases, though I used to discuss, or more like arguing with my friend regarding how different the status of female, or women here in Malaysia compared to last 20, 30 years. She said that now, women are getting better than man, they have better jobs than man, having higher achievements than man while man, at the moment, was busy involving in social problems like illegal racing or infamously know as “rempit”.
Although I’m not against the statement, I rather like to see it in different point of view. I think it’s not the man that had gone down lower than their usual standard. Whatever man had achieved, it will stay as it is. It’s just that women have climb up to the standard of same level as men. Day by day, they increase their social status and having all kinds of job which used to be owned by men. Why it is so obvious? Because here in Malaysia, we are grow by abiding the custom of man have to go to work, while women have to stay home and take care of the children.
We Malaysian, especially Malays are used to the fact of women are not qualify to have their own career. It’s just recently that the trend has changed as Malaysia head to modernisation and regardless gender, capable people are hired for their specialities in certain field. Just as how great the increase in the number of female graduates in higher education centres. It’s not that man fall low and women rise from the slumps. It’s just that more women realise of how important is education to them and for their future, which is a good thing.
Regarding the social problem like illegal racing, it’s simple. Whenever you see a guy involves in an illegal motorcycle race, you will notice the passenger seat will be occupied by a women. No matter how many man involves in social problems, the number of women would not be different in a large margins. Man and women co-exist and dependent, no matter in what environment or situations.
Although she did not satisfy with my explanation, I stress that I am not trying to defend my own gang or sex, I just support equality. In whatever case could arise, gender should not be question because either man or women could succeed, and neither of them is perfect. Both are vulnerable to social problems and such. Maybe in some cases each sex triumph over another, but the gender should not be the reason. It’s the person itself, the attitude and the capabilities. In this case, I don’t think gender inequality exist, if not so obvious, here in Malaysia.
On the latter part of the article, Marina stress on how our society easily falls to whatever so-called religious people told them. This is one of the plague that been infect us, Malaysian for such a long time. In fact, it happened to the whole world. What makes it funny is, not only by blindly follow the order they defies logic thinking, they also done things that religiously wrong in order to achieve something religious. It’s as if they contradicting themselves. How ironic.
I can’t be more agree with the author regarding this issue especially in cases like wrong-teaching or "ajaran sesat" in Malaysia and politics. Some of them follow a false prophet in order to be able to enter paradise after they died, although they forgot, it’s the god that they must obey, not the prophet as prophet just only a medium for the spreading of religious teachings. In politics, in order for them to attract the people to join their so-called religious party, they curse each other and even simple-mindedly claimed that certain people, especially the one in different party, is condemned to hell. As if he is gods himself!
To wrap up my review, I personally agree with the article. It’s a very good article and it manages to reveal what’s been going in our country. Hopefully, it will succeed in rising awareness among us and together, we can prevent such terrible case to occur again in the future.

Important and trivial
Last week, I went back to Jitra,Kedah for my cousin's wedding. We receive the invitation a week earlier, but it left me and my dad feeling...perplexed. Apparently, her dad was somebody in politic stuff, so he got a lot of acquaintances with title "Datuk" . Meaning his mates from politics party he joined.
The invitation stated that the event started on 12.00 pm to only 3.00pm. As they held the event in a hall, they need to clear it up early as to prepare for the night event(talking about discrimination), involving only those "Datuk"s . Simply prove that the night event will have a better feast compare to "public" event that held on the afternoon.
Somehow, I felt that this is wrong. The time limit given was so short, guest hardly able to meet the couple, and it seems like he prioritize his politics mates over his own relative eventhough what is more important, who he blood-related with are, his relatives, not those "Datuk" . There are even relative that took care of her daughter that married that day when she was still a kid, but still had to attend the 3-hours short "public" event. No sort of appreciation offered.
What I'm trying to say, we want to have a grand event for our daughter's wedding. we want to make a feast for our politics friends, for the "Datuk" and all, but we forgot about the most important thing, our blood-related relatives. They are the one that mean most for us. They are the one that support us when we got into any trouble.
This kind of stuff can be avoid by having the "public" event and the "personal" event on a separate day. So, the quest for "public" event like us the relatives, wont have to like, rush throughout the event. We will have enough time to eat and to meet with the couple. So, nobody is left out this way.
The same goes to my previous comic strip. Why I put up that kind of post? Because the restaurant that I mention was so great with its wonderful interior design, yet the quality of the product it offer, which is the food and drinks, was not on par with its design.
In my case, how can somebody be so stupid to use a very small straw for ice blended? Obviously the ice will stuck half-way through in the straw. Even at pasar malam (night market), they smart enough to use a big, slurpee-like straw. They use 1000 watt blender, yet the ice didnt crush properly. Its like, they didn't do it properly, for the sake of business. Its like they come, open a shop, spend capital for hundred thousands ringgit, just to play around.
This what happen when we overlook the important aspect over a trivial one. What determine a restaurant quality is their product, which is the food and drinks, not the chandelier and whatsoever. How can we improve, or excel in business if we can take care such an important aspect.
Same goes to studies, it doesnt matter what university your in, what count is the courses that you take because that will pave your future and its direction. Doesnt matter whether its matriculation or diploma, or degree, government educational institute or private one, doesnt matter which is superior to the other, because what matter is the course that you take must co-related to your interest as it will determine your job in the future.

Green Tech Crisis part 1
This is actually an article u made for my friend's forum. But somehow i think that better u post it up here. Maybe it would to good to any readers :)

PPSMI Will Be Abolished
Thanks to my friend,Fauzan,I know about this.Yes,PPSMI will be abolished in 2012,and yes,I'm delighted as I am one of the A Samad Said clan,the PPSMI-opposition.
Why I oppose PPSMI? PPSMI itself is the method to help transition from Malay-based studies to English-based easier as when we went to the higher education level such as university level,then we will study in English.The lecturer will speak in English,the book will be in English and it will help us to get job too if we proficient in speaking English.
Then,isnt PPSMI is good?Why I oppose it?
For all those "good effect" of PPSMI,lots of other superior country gain them without teaching their school student mathematics and science in English.They dont need their own "PPSMI".Still,they way ahead of us in any term.Why?Well,that is something rather interesting to find out that lousily translating the textbook from Malay to English and end up trigger the downfall of our own student.
Those guys they have strong and good education base for teaching English.The English subject itself is efficient and flawless,so there's no way their student sucks in English and thus, the translating textbook stuff is unneeded.
Why should we English-fy mathematics and science to improve English proficiency?Just power-up the English subject-related stuff,for god sake! Improve the teaching method,revise the syllabus,the teacher itslef must be good,not some lame ass jerk.Its like,u wanna grow some muscles,but instead of going to workout,u went to buy some new cloth,just in case it will make ur chest buff-er.
What I'm trying to say,clearly identify ur focus,ur target,ur problem,and put all ur effort to solve it,not mindlessly mess around with other issue.If its english,then just fix english subject then.U dont blame Menteri Kerjaraya when the youngsters dont know what the hell is congkak,rite?U blame the cultural minister la.
Basically,thats what A Samad Said and others been trying to say.There is a way to improve English proficiency in students,but PPSMI is not in the list.By practicing it,we will face the possibility where our mother tongue language will be forgotten and cast away by our own future generations.
Like Japan,no matter how modernise they are,they still ogiji(bow) when it is necessary.They dint sell out their culture for the sake of advancing in the global current of modernisation.So do we.We dont have to put Bahasa Malaysia at stake just to master English.There are other sensible ways.
Well,now that it will be abolished,the stupidity of whoever put this PPSMI in the first place is unbelievable.I'm lost for words(coz too much to say and swear) to portray how stupid I think this move are.HOnestly,I would rather they continue this PPSMI instead of abolishing it half-way.What wil happen to the kids that have study math and science in english?My little brother have been studying those in english,and next year he have to face UPSR,but unfortunately he have to study those subject in Malay?
Its more pathetic and embarrassing.Like in Batman:The Dark Knight..

Blog Walking~
I've done a lot of blog walking,and surprisingly ,it paid off :P
My followers increase like 2,3 fold.So,all the work worthwhile in the end.Though that dont really means anything,but I appreciate it :-)
While through all the blog walking,I kinda met lots of kind of people.Well,obviously....
Just one thing I cant coupe with was something like posting 'obscene' picture on their blog.Yes...thats their blog,but,I mean,in certain pic,the way they dress was....really overboard,they gone too far,especially regarding to certain religion.I cant stop myself from disgusted...
I dont really care if the religion that they practice permits it,but otherwise,its just really pissed me off.Worse when they put some religous-related entry while the picture of they themselves just like a walking billboard of defiying gods and the religion itself.That really offended me as we (supposedly) practice the same belief.
Maybe I'm just in a state of shock after seeing the reality of the current world.Not that I expect any less from this.,still,its unbelievable.
I remember one saying from one of the blog I visited,"geek comes out to the world".
Maybe Im a geek after all....

Recap on Anybody heard of HPA??
I write those post as referring to my past experienced,which like 4,5 months ago.So,any changes like the wedges gets cheaper or they use real cheese insted of lame thousand island sauce,I apologies for everything I said and I will edit this post.
I also would like any comment or information regarding this topic.I would like to be enlighten by somebody with wider knowledge than me regarding this matter

Anybody Heard of HPA?? part two
But,the way they sell their things,with ridiculously price tag,imagine,the first outlet but tagged at the international-standard price.Talk about overestimating self-worthy.Then,there's obviously-inferior kind of food,which only stupid gonna buy it,at least at that kind of priced.
They simply shut their business down.By their own smart-ass..I mean way of taking advantages of the situation.Maybe not now,maybe not next year,but they never gonna be able to face head on with KFC,let alone replacing it.A really bad way of handling business.So much of "helping brothers" chanting,while at the same time sucking ur own "so-called-brothers" wallet dry.
They are local-type of business,why put such an exclusive price tag?What kind of stupidity is this?Owh,did I mention that their place was filthy?
Then,after some time,there got Radix Chicken Rice.My dad went there with my little brother.They ordered up a chicken chop and a fresh orange.My dad said that the chicken taste damn bad,and its expensive(i cant remember,but its more than RM10) while the fresh orange taste damn like Sunquick,tag at RM2.80.
I kinda believe his 'review' as we have our favorite spot for chicken chop and its damn tasty,always pack with customer,at only cost RM8.
Like what I said earlier,for what the hell of reason do they have to put such an utterly-big-company-which-have-hundred-outlet-worldwide kind of price???
I just dont get it.If u wanna help ur "brother",if u wanna us to support local industry,then u should start by putting "LOCAL" prices!!
To me,put RFC and KFC in one-to-one comparison,I'm surely buy KFC.Why?
-Their prices are the same(some RFC are much higher,eg:wedges)
-KFC taste better

Very soon after the crisis regarding Israel attacking Palestine,really bad and all,got this place called Radix Fried Chicken.Own by HPA.This RFC mainly to be the substitute to KFC,which accused as fueling Israel wallet on buying bombs to drop on Palestinian.So,all the hype on helping other Muslim,boycott the Israel-related industry surfaces.
I support this,I mean,if u read my previous post on this crisis,I support this kind of counterattack.Provide alternative for Muslims.Our own KFC,our own Starbucks and etc.Its healthier on the economy and provide great long-term effects.100 times better than suicide bombing of course.
I went to RFC,once(coz I dont wanna go there again).There this organic herb chicken,quite good.Not bad for a start.There herb burger,nice.Healthy yet tasty.Then, I saw this like cheezy-wedges wannabe.So,I thought,"lets try it".Then,I damn pissed off and disappointed.
FIRST:
The price are almost the same KFC.Hell,the wedges are more expensive than KFC's cheezy wedges.RFC cost RM3.50 while KCF cost RM3.30,when taxed with 5%,it becomes RM3.47.Still 3 cent cheaper.
SECOND:
KFC's cheezy wedges got bbq cheese on top of it,obviously...rite?While RFC's wedges got thousand island mayonnaise on it.HAHA,seriously,thousand island sauce?I can just bought it at any mini market.Find the LADY'S CHOICE one,tasty.Its not even as good as KFC's,but tagged at higher prices?At least,I cant buy the cheezy wedges's bbq cheese at my neighborhood mini market.
What I'm trying to say here,RFC got a wide open chance here.With the crisis flaming,they easily can take the advantage,create an alternative for KFC which we know loved by most Malaysians.With the "boycott Israel stuff" and "Buy Islamic-owned stuff" sticker paste almost everywhere,they like opening a shop which have thousand of people line-up just to buy their stuff.Its like having a girl's legs open wide in front of u.Pure advantage and chances.Its money in the pocket already.

Men VS Woman finale
In Japan,the pornography industry so huge that they cant banned it.Even girls not hesitated to join the industry,like Maria Ozawa who self-willingly search and join the industry(she's hot).
Does that means woman are nothing but slut?No,its just they havent realized the potential of male hooker.
Look into the bigger picture,in Resident Evil 5,there some controversy where the zombie which usually white-skin man change to African,which black-skin man.Some call racism.What the hell,that was like the 8th entry of the Resident Evil series and 7 of them feature white-skin zombie,and no crap like racism.Now,try to make change in the newest entry,suddenly some shit bout racism appeard.Hell,hypocrite.
Another one,b4 this US got white-skin man for their president,does that mean white guy great?No,coz now Obama is in the house.Before this US got great economy background,does that mean US great?No,coz now they fall down like never before.Before this Japan got nuke,does that mean Japanese sucks?No,coz although other countries in bad shape,they kinda can hold on(compare to US),this can cleary observe by the condition of both national automobile industry.
What I'm trying to say,human cant be judge by the sexs,by the races nor skin-colour.All human are the same,what makes us different is ourself.If we want to succeed,no matter what sex we are,what race nor skin-colour,we can.Its all depends on the path that we choose ourself,thats what determine who we gonna be.
To sum up,I believe all human are same.Either men or woman.We all got the potential in ourself.Nobody superior than anybody.

Well,its normal.The requirement to enter university is that u have the brain,not that u have a dick.Men nor woman can enter university.The reason that the number increasing is that more woman are exposed to the vitalness of having proper education.Its been sort of our custom that woman has to stay in the kitchen.Dont have to futher study,just marry and produce kids.
Even now,my girl was asked by her granny to stop studying,dont go to university and go marry some guy(apparently nice and religious type).See,thats why there less woman in university for past 50 years.Its our mentality,got nothing to do with woman overtaking men.Bout the job,ok,in Forbes's billionaire ranking,the top 3 are men.So,does that mean men better than woman?No,because those rich guy got female secretary.They still need woman coz without them,their watsoever bussiness cant go on.

Second case,another film,where a guy,love this girl,lets called her A.Then suddenly,the guy caught up it lots of debts.Coincidental debts from A's father.Then,having no other option left,the father offer him pretty good proposal,where he have to marry A's older sister and then,all he's debts are settle.Then the marriage was held on.Although the guy have to marry the girl he dint love,and have to let go the one he love,while A have to let go his guy to her sister,both agree that its "god's will","when u love someone,u must put urself,ur fate,entirely in HIS hands".
Again,I dint agree.Ok.He is in debts,then work urass and find a job,work overtime,dint sleep,work 24,7,collect money,just eat grass and sand,come on,others can do it,we can do it.Malaysia boleh,isn't it?Gather enough money and pay the debt.What the hell with "marry-a-girl-and-debts-settle" policy.Hell,I would love to be in that guy shoes.In debts,and to solve it,screw a pussy.Man,damn lucky.If in case,he can pay the debts,so be it.Die if u must.Its your responsibility.Then that's "GOD'S WILL".Then that's "IF WE LOVE SOMEONE,WE MUST PUT URSELF,UR FATE IN HIS HANDS".Im getting sick with this misleading-but-seems-romantic-to-some-retard messages.Stop being hypocrite and self-centered

I give several example,like this film,showing this guy got imprisoned for a mistake he never committed.Then,somehow the main witness got into coma and in order to wake her up(in a way of believing god's will),he has to say to her,eventhough she is in coma,that he would marry her coz apparently the witness like the guy,although the guy was married,and apparently the wife allow polygamy in order to save the guy from death sentences.And again,apparently,thanks to god's will,the witness woke up from coma just as the guy finished his propose sentence(cliche).
Ok,some find this "ohh,so touching,romantic" and blabla.While I found this as unfair to the girl.Yaa,she gonna married to a man which didn't love her.He just proposed her for the sake of saving his own damn ass.Imagine getting f*ck by a guy who didn't even love you in the first place.While from the guy point of view,he has to marry a girl he didn't love,but well,who gonna refuse a free treat?That's the reality.We cant go off marrying anybody just for the sake of anything else other than love her and keep spouting,"god's will","its fate.I must accept this".Have some sympathy to the girl.Would you marry someone who dint love you?Its a disgrace to her and gonna hurt her feelings damn bad.

Love or Not??!! parte uno
OK.Seriously,I don't want to put love-related and politics-related post in my blog,just my policies, but well,after some incident and consideration,I might put some,this one as a start.I also will put it in parts which I'll name using Italian numbering.As a tribute to Angels and Demons film.Just for fun~
Start of with telling off stories,like usual.
Lately,I bump into several film and TV shows,love genre,obviously, and I feel that they been spreading wrong messages.Some people find it romantic while I find it disgusting,hypocrite and misleading.

Music
I read from some forum about music does not have boudaries.No matter what religion or races,music bound us together.Its universal.I do agree but some people give negative feedback such as music's lyrics can influence us,like the black metal genre,and some says music make us less focus to our life,waste time,as what muslim would say,"lara".
I love music,I love it so much.I have couple of music player.My ears had swollen for so many times till I cant count just because using earphone for long period.I eat only fried eggs for a month just to buy an earphone.I really love music.
But,saying that music somehow "lead" us to do something bad,something unmoral,I cant really agree with that.Yes,even if the lyrics have bad words,negative messages,doesnt mean that we have to follow them.Moreover,even if the lyrics say"f*uck the society",the singer didnt pick up an AK47 and wonder around killing people.Lyrics are ways of musician expressing their feelings,method of delivering thought and opinions.Some lyrics even just shit.Doesnt even meant a thing,even to the singer her/him self.Its all back to us,the listener of how to intrepret it.To really understand the meanings.Some lyrics have motivational messages and thought.Just take the good part,leave out the bad ones.
Same goes with the waste time part.All depends on the individuals.If he manage his time right,then music wont cause any harm.Its like blaming the car when somebody crash his car for overspeeding.Its stupid.
Take a scenario as give a motorcycle to a teenager.He has several choices like,use it to help his mother buy some grocery stuff or use it to go rempit(illegal racing) and end up dying pathetically.All depends on the human,that is us.
Like what I state in my previous post,we all have the option to choose our role during living in this world.Choose the right role,thats all there is.

Mother's Day
Today,10 May,is the Mother's Day.I dont really...no,I dont celebrate it in any kind of forms.Why? I will start off by telling a story first
During my school days,once a year or twice,there will be like a motivation speech or lecture,especially to the forms which gonna take examination on that year,or any speech given my some special person in certain event or celebration.Usually,they will insert the element of respecting and love our parents.Some of the "expert" one can psychologically make 100 students cry so bad because kinda touch or missed their mom or dad.Some were regretting what they had done to their parents in the past.
The fact is,I never cried even once in such event.Since primary school,I never fall for that psychological trap.I even used to force myself and put some saliva on my eye to pretend like I'm crying so that my friends wont be like,"ehh,nape ko xnangis?"(why dont u cry).I bored with that question.
Some of them said that I didnt love parents,my heart are dark and hard,bad son and bla bla bla.Ok.The reason why I didnt cried because they cried on that day,on that event of speech,meaning they just,"just" remembered bout their mother or father,"just" remembered the mistakes that they had made,"just" remembered that they used to broke their parents heart.Which is pathetic,stupid and much crueler than me.
While I,in fact,yes I am,always think of my mom,always missed my mom,always remember the mistakes,the sin I committed to them.I never forget once and always realizes when I done a new one.When I broke their heart.I always have the consciousness.
That is why I didnt and never cry when some people speak stuff regarding my parents,trying to provoke me to become sad and broke down.The kind of people that fall for that usually,not all,usually just have the consciousness for some time,temporarily and they gonna "forget" about their mom again,and some guy gonna psychologically trap them,and they gonna cry again and the cycle repeats over and over again.
Same goes with Mother;s Day.I didnt celebrated it.Why?Because I didnt love my mom?No.It is because I love her.I love her everyday.Not just 10 of May.Thats why 10 of May means nothing to me.If its about giving present,I can give present to my mom anytime,any day.Why restrict our self from showing our love to our mom by some celebration set up by god knows who??
The same I thought of birthday.It ain't the day I show my love to my friends.I love my friends every single day.It just some kind of day that I can use as a reason to give present.Or else he or she would be like,"ko apsal tetiba bg aku hadiah?"(why u suddenly give me a present?)That's why I never really pay attention to my friends birthday.Im sorry.
